Pursuant to the Department of Agriculture Administrative Order No. 26, Series of 2021, the reoriented mandate of the Biotechnology Centers under the DA system is to establish and nurture a Research for Development (R4D) Network composed of institutions actively engaged in biotechnology-related initiatives. This redefined role emphasizes the importance of building strong, functional partnerships and fostering collaboration among network members to drive innovation, resource sharing, and unified progress in agricultural biotechnology.
In alignment with this directive, the DA-Fisheries Biotechnology Center has actively initiated and conducted a series of networking and collaboration meetings with identified partner institutions, research organizations, academic collaborators, and other key stakeholders. These meetings serve as platforms for aligning research goals, exploring joint initiatives, exchanging knowledge and best practices, and identifying opportunities for shared capacity building.
Through these strategic engagements, the Center aims to contribute to a more cohesive and responsive biotechnology community that supports national goals for food security, sustainable aquaculture, and science-based fisheries development. The continued strengthening of these institutional ties reflects the Center’s commitment to its role as a catalyst for collaborative innovation within the R4D framework.
