ADVANCED MOLECULAR DETECTION OF TILAPIA LAKE VIRUS (TILV), STREPTOCOCCUS AGALACTIAE, AND EMERGING PATHOGENS IN PHILIPPINE AQUACULTURE

The Fisheries Biotechnology Center (FBC) is leading an invaluable effort to advance disease management in tilapia farming in the Philippines. Collaborating with key institutions such as Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU), the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-National Freshwater Technology Center (BFAR-NFTC), and Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology to develop a molecular diagnostic kit for the detection TiLV and Streptococcus agalactiae.
